Offline Cubes
What Are Offline Cubes?
Oflline cubes are cubes that can be downloaded to your computer and used independantly of the MIS server. The cubes retain their interactivity but are only as current as their date of creation and will not reflect any changes that might be made to the online cubes and their underlying data. Therefore when using offline cubes always check, when possible, whether later versions have been uploaded to the UPO website.
Why Offline Cubes?
In some instances university staff are unable to connect to the Planning Office MIS. With Offline Cubes these (and other) users are now able to access the full potential of the Planning Office MIS without the need to be connected to the server.
How Do I Use Offline Cubes?
Offline cubes can be accessed using Microsoft Excel and are worked with using pivot tables. The document Accessing Offline Cubes in Excel provides detailed instructions on how to do this.
