Interactive finance data profile of faculties and departments for 2007
Data sources
The data for the financial performance dashboards are derived from datasets made available by Financial Operations containing the total income, expenditure and staff costs for faculties and departments. The original data file has been filtered to create the different views and levels of analysis presented here. An Excel Spreadsheet version of the underlying data is also available. Please contact our office or contact Financial Operations for further information. Queries relating to the financial data itself should be directed to Financial Operations.
All data are taken from adjustment period 1 of the year displayed. Names and numbers for faculties and departments are as of 2007. Some years do not contain data and this reflects the original data source. A reason for this can be structural changes in faculties from one year to the next or as for example in the case of the VCA no data availability for earlier periods.
The dashboard is currently released in draft as some department data were not available at the time of release. Updates will be made regularly as more data become available.

How to use the dashboards
Both Finance Dashboards contain data from the years 2004 to 2007 and present different views of income, expenditure and staff costs on faculty and departmental level respectively.
Please select a faculty/department from the menu. The total income expenditure, growth and operational salary expenditure will be displayed for the selection. Further detailed information will be displayed by ticking the “display details” box at the top of the page. The same data as above is then presented split into operational, project and trust income and expenditure.
By moving the mouse pointer over the graph detailed information for each entry will be displayed.
To print a view of the dashboards please select Page Setup from the File menu and select “landscape” as printing orientation. Select Print Preview to review the page and click on print and select a printer if the whole page is visible.
You will need Macromedia Flash Player installed on your computer to display the dashboard. Depending on your local security settings, you may be asked to run active content on this page. Contact your local IT support staff for technical assistance.
