Australian Graduate Survey (AGS)
The Australian Graduate Survey (AGS), co-ordinated nationally by Graduate Careers Australia, is conducted by each Australian tertiary institution using a common methodology. The survey is sent to all graduates four months following completion of a course of study.
There are three main components of the AGS.
The Graduate Destination Survey seeks information about the type of work, further study or other activity recent graduates were involved in on a given census date – either 31 October or 30 April.
- The Course Experience Questionnaire is sent to graduates who have completed a coursework program. The survey asks for feedback on the quality of teaching, course goals and standards at the University. Graduates are also asked to comment on the best aspects of their course and ways the course and university experience could be improved.
- The Postgraduate Research Questionnaire is sent to research higher degree students, asking a series of questions about supervision, skills development, integration into the research community, and the thesis exam. Postgraduates are invited to comment on the best aspects of their course and also those they feel are in need of improvement.
