Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ)

The Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ), a major part of the Australian Graduate Survey, seeks new graduates' views on various aspects of the course just completed.

It is sent together with the Graduate Destination Survey to all graduates four months following completion of a course of study.

All Australian higher education institutions administer the survey to their own graduates in accordance with a common standard methodology and coding protocol co-ordinated by the Graduate Careers Australia.

The CEQ, as used at the University of Melbourne, is a 33-item questionnaire, eliciting responses on a 5-point rating from Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree. CEQ data are normally reduced to scales or factors for reporting purposes. From 2007 the University has chosen to report on the following scales:

in addition to the two core scales of Good teaching (GTS) and Generic skills (GSS), and Overall Satisfaction Index (OSI).
