About the University Planning Office
The University Planning Office is a department of the Senior Vice-Principal's Management Group, and we contribute to the achievement of The University of Melbourne's agenda through:
- its primary responsibilities of educational profile and academic aspects of budget planning and monitoring;
- the provision of strategic advice and management information to support decision-making and planning within the University;
- management of the University's Evaluation Cycle;
- development and interpretation of quality assurance and performance measures;
- the management of information and data;
- environmental scanning and analysis; and
- management of statutory reporting requirements to Government.
The Office is also a key contributor to:
- the agenda and work of the University's Planning and Budget Committee; and
- the Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance Committee of the Academic Board.
In order to meet its commitments, the Office works closely with University senior executives and senior staff in the faculties, academic departments and within other administrative units.
